You are one of the two youtube artists who encouraged me to dive back into art again after many many years of having given up on it.

  30. Hey dear!! Have been following you a long time!! Can you make more bookmark videos…. Please… πŸ™πŸ™

  31. It was great Mako! Inspired me to play around with a similar ideaπŸ’œ

  32. This is such a great idea! How many of us have bought tones of different art medium and have barely touched & tried creating art with those? We do tend to gravitate towards our β€œfavorite” or β€œfamiliar” medium… I can appreciate creating the same art with different medium. Good idea Mako! Thank you for using your life experience and sharing your tips & discoveries with us! Much love from Canada! πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈβ€οΈ

  33. haters really do be having their notifs on

  34. So very true..the excitement of using something new, new supplies, colours, methods…so much fun in our art and junk journal spreads. I just played with some acrylic paint, creating a really easy rose and wow what it can do compared with watercolour…I am excited to play 😁 And it's all about having fun in the process…for me anyway. Hugs, joie πŸ’œπŸŒΏ

  35. Are you using foamcore board to tape to?

  36. Thanks for the continued encouragement to experiment and try new techniques. This was a great tutorial. 🌻😊

  37. Love this idea! I have generally been most comfortable with pencil sketches, but am just getting back into painting with both acrylics and watercolors. This would be z super fun idea to try!

  38. This is a great bit of inspiration. I just came back to art last year after a very long break. I started off with watercolour but after a few months gravitated more towards coloured pencils. I haven't even looked at my paints for months but I've been thinking of taking them out again and maybe even combining the two mediums. Think I'll actually go do it right now after watching this πŸ™‚

  39. I'm that type of artist that uses a lot of media. And those are oils, watercolor, colored pencils, graphite, charcoal and ink. I used to paint with acrylic but when I discovered oils I straight up left them and never touched the again… Kinda feel bad for themπŸ˜‚

  40. Mako!~ My Letter is finished! I just need to put the stamps on it now!! I cant wait!~ β™₯οΈπŸŒ‰

  41. I usually use watercolour because now that i have ur cheatsheet it makes things so much easier knowing how to blend and what colour will come by mixing!~

  42. Always fun to watch

  43. Hi Mako! This video is really helpful for what I'm currently doing at school for my Art GCSE. We are in the process of creating our piece to finish our first project which is the London Skyline. We are experimenting with different mediums for the foreground and background of our final image, refining and changing things as we go along until we get a final idea of what our main piece is going to look like. After getting a clear idea of what the main piece is going to look like, we are going to make a mini version of it. This will be the last chance we get to refine and change anything we do or don't want to add to our final piece. Once you're satisfied with the mini version we are going to start translating it to the main piece. This video has given me an idea of what I can add and change to my current idea that I have for my end product. Especially with the usage of oil pastels, I've now learnt how to properly blend it together and making it not like patches of colours everywhere. As always Love you Mako!πŸ’™πŸ’™

  44. 8:23-is it just me, or is that really a nail pile?

  45. Hello mako!
I love your art. You’re really talentedπŸ₯° your tutorials and lessons are really helpful I’m trying to draw landscapes and use paints more and you really helped me. Sending lots of love from Georgia πŸ‡¬πŸ‡ͺ

  46. Hi Mako!!! Loved this! Tfs!
Tip for the oil pastels; you can use turpentine (solvent) to blend!

  47. such soothing voice

  48. I found this fascinating and what a wonderful way to force yourself to get out of a comfort/discomfort zone. Great video Mako, thanks for posting πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ¨πŸ–Œ

  49. Amazing video, l like your art very much, you have new follower my friend…πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜ŠπŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ–ΌπŸ‘πŸ–Œ

  50. Great inspiration. I paint mostly with acrylic(gouache), I use these as I started my painting life learning 'folk art' style painting. I have done some pastel work (not oil), and have what I need to do water colour, just haven't started yet

  51. Love your paintings thank you for sharing i’ll share with my friends

  52. Love you Mako!

  53. Hi mako I just want to ask you that do you use textured or smooth watercolor paper

  54. Another reason why shes Mako…. She makes me pick up colors….. Shes the best…..

  55. Hello Mako. Wonderful video. I love using different mediums. My first and.most beloved is water colour. Second one in my favourite list are the oil pastels by sennelier, which are creamy like a lipstick. Third is acrylic and fourth Prismacolor pencils. I also use charcoal and graphite. I tried to use gouache once but didn't like the result. I think I should try this medium again. I have a cheap brand of gouache by gioto, and maybe this is the reason it didn't help me to paint properly. May I ask you please which brand of oil pastels you use in this video. Are they soft and easy to work with?

  56. Nice new picture!

    Good friend forward

  57. You are having just amazing & creative ideas. Just love the way you imagine things

  58. This video makes me want to paint again. I'm going to paint~^^

  60. Wow! Your paintings are so good!

  61. I do this 😍

  62. Thanks Mako. I did this in watercolor, colored pencils and wax pastels. It looks great. Thanks for the idea.

  63. Great video as usual mako! And this advice was actually quite useful. I've been drawing mainly with pens and ink for some time now, I should try painting more and using my coloured pencils

  64. Awww yeet new video
I woke up at 4pm cause I was up all night last night lol

  65. Thanks for the inspiration! It's so interesting seeing the same painting done in different methods.

  66. I’ve heard that people don’t like oil pastels, but I love them. They are great for art therapy too haha.

  67. Thank you Mako! This is helpful so much!

  68. What a great idea! I love the oil pastels you made! Thank you!

  69. Hi dear! When I say people that I want to become an artist people say me that art can never have a good career and I really get frustrated and irritated. What should I do in such situations?

  70. Can you help me that how can I watercolour in human figure and how to make any female figure…plzzz

  71. It's so nice πŸ’•
    Your ideas is amazingπŸ‘

  72. πŸ˜ƒ

  73. Nicely done! changing up mediums is something I am trying with Soft Pastels! SO very difficult! Enjoyable video and thanks for putting this out there! Oh I am a watercolorist been at it 30+ years.

  74. Too mAny art mediums might dilute your progress in ART….I stopped pastels because I wanted to focus on oils and watercolours

  75. Awesome

  76. could you please give me some tips on how to match the color painting?

  77. This goes right along with something I read yesterday that helped me relax a little more. The first time we attempt a project, we’re learning. The second time, we’re practicing. By the third time, we’re much more confident in the steps we need to complete for the best results.

  78. I've just discovered your channel a few days ago, I'm impressed! You're very good.
I'm trying to learn how to use watercolours (my favourite) in all its forms (pans, pens, pencils…) but I also like charcoal very much.
Thank you for your work, it's very inspirational.

  79. do a same painting
    negative color please

  80. Hi makocinno. I love your videos and i really want to thank you for making videos about how to get better at water painting. I really needed them. I would really like you to waterpaint a dragon. I would like to learn how to do that.

  81. Mako you are one of those people who lift others and help them rise.πŸ’Ÿ

  82. Mako, i have sent your letter! Please tell me when u recieve it!! β™‘

  83. i like the message behind this video but i didn't really like any of the drawings but maybe it's just me being too used to realism.
