Public Hunt Drawing System Overview- Texas Parks & Wildlife-[Official]

Looking for a good opportunity to hunt in Texas? Consider the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Public Hunt Drawing System. In this video we’ll give you a brief overview of how the
new, online-only Public Hunt Drawing System works. On over 70 properties across Texas, you can
apply for Special Permits to hunt white-tailed deer, mule deer, pronghorns, bighorn sheep,
javelina, alligators, turkeys, feral hogs, and exotics. There are special hunts just
for youth hunters, too. You can also apply for e-postcard hunts – where
a limited number of hunting opportunities on select hunt areas are available to hunters
who have purchased an Annual Public Hunting Permit. And, if you want to apply to hunt
antlerless deer on certain US Forest Service lands, you can do that here, too. You can use this new system to browse for
hunts by category or by hunt area, apply for hunts online, pay for your applications, and
check the status of your applications, view your loyalty points and purchase the permits
for the hunts you’re selected for. To see what hunts are available, go to the
Browse Hunt Catalog page. If you browse by category, you’ll see a listing of all the
locations where hunts for that category are offered. For each location you can see the
hunt dates, bag limits, permit fees and other important information. If you browse by area
and select a particular location, you’ll see all the hunts available there. When you apply for a hunt, you’ll see the
category and area you have selected. Then you can create an account if you don’t already
have one and pay with a credit card. If you make a mistake, you’ll be prompted how to
correct it. This new system will allow you apply for hunts
in the same hunt category at multiple locations. After the application deadline date passes,
a computer will randomly draw the spots for the hunt. Selected applicants will be notified
by email. If you are selected, you can print out the permit for your hunt or use a mobile
device to store it and then display when needed. If you are selected for a hunt, there may
be a permit fee associated with that hunt. When you apply for hunts, you accrue loyalty
points in that hunt category that will increase your chances of being chosen on any future
hunt applications. If you are drawn for a hunt, any loyalty points for that category
will be reset to zero. So what are you waiting for? Visit our website
and try the new online Public Hunt Drawing System for a chance to hunt the wild game
of Texas.
