Body Molding & Belly Casting : How to Repaint the Belly Cast

In this clip I’m going to talk about how to
repaint a belly casting that has already had a design applied to it. You may want to change
your design because the child has grown out of the nursery decor to a big girl or big
boy design in their bedroom and you still want to keep the belly in there or you want
to change it in your house and you want it to be in a different room. You can change
the design even though it has been varnished. You want to make sure that you sand the complete
belly down. Get the varnish off. You don’t have to take the whole design off. You just
want to make sure that you put some tooth to the varnish that was on there. If you do
have a design like this black that you want to put a lighter design onto you may need
to add a layer of plaster to that area and then go through the same steps of making sure
you let that plaster dry completely and prime it, then sand it and then you can continue
with your new design. If you have embellishments on it, if it’s with a glue gun it should be
able to pop off. Again, you’re going to have a glue gun residue on there. You need to sand
that down. Get it off or it will show through onto your new design. So, that is how you
can change the design on your belly casting.
